Palladium Hotel Group has announced its latest high-tech gadget with the introduction of smart bracelets, or the ‘VIB’ (Very Important Bracelet), which will be available to all guests staying at Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel and the new Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, opening this summer.
No money, no keys
The innovative VIBs mean guests do not have to carry money or worry about displacing their room keys when enjoying the hotels’ facilities. Guests will be able to easily open their rooms, access different establishments around the hotel, pay for any product using an assigned PIN code, and take advantage of exclusive discounts. The bracelets are programmed to ensure that guests’ information is protected during their stay.
“As pioneers in breakthrough technology, we have collaborated with the leading companies in information technology and communication and are proud of the talented professionals who have created such a unique experience for our guests on this year-long project,” says Juan José Calvo, Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing at Palladium Hotel Group.
The future of CRM
The branded ‘VIB’ intelligent bracelet is the future of customer relationship management (CRM) in hospitality, substituting the biometric payment system of ‘PayTouch’ and taking it a step further as wearable technology containing radiolocation systems and radio-frequency identification.
The bracelets are coded according to customer preferences, ranging from room admission, express checkout, access to guests’ Facebook and Twitter profiles for picture and content sharing, as well as payments with a PIN account or via credit card.
For those looking for the red carpet treatment, there are three special packages such as the Ushuaїa Clubber Pack, which includes ten drinks, access to the VIP lounge and a special breakfast – at a heavily discounted price.
“For our first season, we’ve made it as user-friendly as possible while at the same time offering a number of added-value opportunities. Guests will be able to find areas for social media interaction where they can ‘share’ their experiences, access ‘VIP-only’ areas, and set a payment balance for their children and more,” adds Juan José Calvo.
