Redefine|BDL Hotels, the UK’s largest independent hotel management company, is expanding its portfolio and bolstering its project management credentials with a series of new ventures.
The company has recently begun or completed no less than seven builds, refurbishments or management handovers, representing significant investment in the hotel and leisure sector.
DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre
This week, the group unveiled the newly refurbished DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre, in partnership with DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Worldwide – following the £4.2m transformation of the former Point Hotel in the city. Redefine|BDL Hotels project managed the re-brand from start to finish and will continue to operate the new look hotel going forward.
Holiday Inn Express
This comes hot on the heels of the opening of the 199 bedroom Holiday Inn Express Manchester Airport, in partnership with MAG Property. Redefine|BDL Hotels project managed the former Travelodge’s transformation and rebrand and will oversee the hotel’s operation.
The company also operates the Holiday Inn Express Southwark, which is currently being extended. This will bring the total number of Holiday Inn Express hotels operated by Redefine|BDL Hotels to 18.
Aloft Liverpool
An ongoing major project is the landmark Aloft Liverpool, in partnership with Starwood Hotels & Resorts – the first UK franchise agreement for an Aloft hotel. The firm is developing and project managing the £18m five star hotel’s construction and will operate the hotel from its launch in September 2014.
Flexible approach
Ross Morrow, Chief Technical Officer at Redefine|BDL Hotels, said: “We are involved in some very exciting projects at the moment and are pleased to be able to lend our development and project management skills to our partners, as well as the hotel management expertise for which we are well known.
“We can cover the full life-cycle for hotels – from developing and project managing brand new hotels or extensive refurbishments, to running the finished article on a day-to-day basis.
“We are flexible in that we can pick up isolated parts of the process, too – for example, we will take over the operation of the brand new Hilton Leeds due to open in 2016 despite not being involved in the build; and we are project managing the extension of the Ramada Encore London West, although we won’t be operating the hotel.
“This flexible approach means we are able to offer bespoke services to our partners, giving them what they need, when they need it.”
