Renowned Lancashire country-house hotel and Michelin-starred restaurant Northcote is launching Northcote Cookery School this April.
Northcote Cookery School will offer a bookable schedule of half- and full-day courses for all skillsets – whether foundation, intermediate or advanced – and students can choose from several culinary categories: from honing knife skills and baking bread to foraging ingredients in the Northcote garden and cooking five-course meals.
Courses – led by newly-appointed head tutor Michael Vanheste, formerly of Bettys Cookery School – will take place at the Chef’s Table, where four stations accommodate groups of eight and enable students to observe all the theatre of the working kitchen through a glass partition.
Cutting-edge in design – with equipment by Stuart Frazer Kitchens, SieMatic, Gaggenau and Goodfellow & Goodfellow, together with easy-to-follow recipes on iPads – the new facilities provide the perfect platform to teach cookery to Northcote’s exceptionally high standards, with courses delivered by Michael, chef patron Nigel Haworth, and head chef Lisa Allen.
Together with the tuition, included with each course is morning tea and coffee with seasonal pastries; an informal, two-course lunch paired with fine wine; afternoon tea and scones; and a Northcote Cookery School apron and gift bag. Whether a day out, a corporate group or part of a package that includes bed-and-breakfast, Northcote Cookery School expects to cater to all bookings.
