Mechline Developments Ltd was voted Best Supplier of the Year 2012 – Light Equipment by the members of the Catering Equipment Distributor’s Association (CEDA) for a record-breaking seventh time. It was also shortlisted for the Best Customer Service award.
Every year the CEDA members vote for the Best Light Equipment Supplier at its national conference. This year Milton Keynes-based Mechline won this accolade for a fantastic seventh time.
Peter Galliford, of Mechline Developments Ltd, a manufacturer of innovative products for the commercial foodservice operation, was presented with the award by CEDA Chairman, Jack Sharkey. Sharkey acknowledged Mechline’s long-standing committed support of CEDA and commented that their outstanding track record of success proves “they must be doing something very right”.
He also expressed the view that CEDA members pride themselves on the quality of their work and this can only be achieved with the help of a good supply line of quality products from manufacturers that are best in their field.
Peter Galliford expressed his thanks to the members and went on to say “We are thrilled to receive this award, again, and we are committed to delivering the finest engineered solutions that make your job as easy as it can be. This is an increasingly competitive world we all work in, so the support of our product offer that this award represents is very much appreciated. Thank you for the recognition and for the trade and trust that the members place with us. Your continued support is hugely appreciated”.
CEDA educates, cooperates and shares knowledge and best practices for the benefit of customers and suppliers alike. It is the authorative trade organisation for its members and remains impartial as an industry reference to raise the standards of the food service equipment industry. In effect, CEDA and its members offer expert, impartial advice on all aspects of catering equipment to the foodservice industry.
CEDA members deal with all major equipment manufacturers and are aware of how their products actually perform in the kitchen and how the suppliers themselves perform, in terms of supplying spare parts and other technical back-up.
Mechline, which designs and manufactures products for the foodservice and waste industries, has been in operation since 1984 when it was established as a service and installation company.
In 1991, the service side shifted to the supply and manufacture of installation products. Since that time the company has focussed on building a portfolio of innovative and unique products for the catering and waste management sectors.
Mechline’s offer includes top-quality technical products (gas, water, drainage, waste management, etc.), along with its new product development. Mechline is committed to an offer that meets the customer’s needs and the industry’s environmental and operational targets.
All products are either designed or manufactured by Mechline and therefore IP and trademark rights belong to Mechline. For a selected part of its portfolio, Mechline is the exclusive UK distributor, working with manufacturers to engineer products that suit UK market requirements.
Brands from Mechline include: AquaJet, Delabie, Dormont, GastroTechniX, CaterZap, GreasePaK and Waste20 – to name a few.
The Waste20 was developed to provide an easy-to-use food waste solution for commercial catering environments. It is not to be confused with a composter or macerator. It is essentially a high-speed, high-volume digesting system, which uses naturally occurring microorganisms to digest food. Once the waste has been added to the system, the microorganisms reduce the food waste to waste water in 24 hours. The process also starts the breakdown of fats, oils and grease (FOGs), to help minimize the chances of blockages further down the drain. The end product is safe for drains and sewage systems, and the water can be returned to the ecosystem once it has been treated by the local waste water treatment facility.
GreasePaK was developed to specifically address the need to have an operationally and eco-friendly way to combat the FOGs in waste water from prep and cooking areas in the kitchen. Its “easy-to-install-and-use” design has made it one of the UK’s most popular means of grease and drain management in commercial catering operations.
