The Passion 4 Hospitality (P4H) Student Conference 2013 will take place on Monday 11 March at the Victory Services Club, London.
For 2013, P4H has been extended from its origins as a student debating competition to become a unique showcase and celebration of talent and career opportunities in the hospitality industry.
The conference has been designed to propel and equip our industry undergraduates to become ‘the best of the best’ in readiness for employment in the hospitality industry. The event will include a careers forum, industry success stories, discussion panels, a keynote speech from a high profile industry leader, and, of course, the hotly contested P4H student debating competition.
- Over 30 top hospitality institutions have been invited to participate.
- Up to 200 attendees are expected for the conference which starts at 9.30am and finishes at 4.00pm, when the final live debate commences.
- P4H provides a vital platform for employers to meet the ‘cream of the crop’ of hospitality students and see at first hand their prospective employees in action.
Passion 4 Hospitality was launched in 2011 to bring students, academia and industry together. Nearly 90 colleges and universities are signed up to the Institute of Hospitality’s Education Membership Scheme, which gives 40,000 hospitality students access to unique resources and career support.
Quick thinking, market knowledge and public speaking skills are all put to the test in the P4H debating competition, and the first winners came from the University of West London. The following year, in front of an audience of industry leaders at Hotelympia, the University of Brighton picked up the trophy. Who will win this prestigious accolade in 2013? It could be you!
“I am delighted to see that our P4H initiative is going from strength to strength. The ability to talk and persuade others in front of an audience is a valuable skill to nurture in any walk of life. Now with the addition of the student conference, we have created a truly unique event to meet the needs of students, educators and employers,” said Peter Ducker FIH, chief executive, Institute of Hospitality.
