Hotel Indigo has responded to research into business travellers to create a ‘package’ designed to add ‘local’ value to their stay.
A recent survey by IHG’s upscale boutique hotel brand Hotel Indigo® found that nearly half of business travellers (48%) like spending time outside of their hotel room exploring the neighbourhood, but nearly half of these same travellers (47%) wish they had more free time to do so. For those guests who don’t have the time or opportunity to explore, the Hotel Indigo brand created the “It’s Not All Business” package to offer business travellers a refreshingly local taste when they stay at a participating hotel.
It’s Not All Business package
The package brings the neighbourhood to business travellers, highlighting regionally-sourced ingredients for a complimentary breakfast and cocktail, like organic locally-roasted coffee beans featured in the Espresso Martini at Hotel Indigo Asheville Downtown, or local stone ground grits delivered fresh each morning for breakfast at the Hotel Indigo Athens University Area. We await details of what will be on offer at UK hotels…
Priority Club bonus points
The package includes a complimentary breakfast to kick start the day and a signature drink for unwinding at night at participating Hotel Indigo hotels. Each hotel features a great bar and restaurant with delicious, locally sourced and seasonal menu selections, from local coffee and craft beer to fresh-made bread and artisan cheeses.Guests will also earn 1,000 Priority Club® bonus points as part of the package, bringing them closer to a Reward Night.
Mary Dogan Winslow, director, Americas Brand Management, Hotel Indigo, IHG commented:
“At Hotel Indigo, we want our guests to feel refreshed and inspired by the things they discover about our neighbourhoods. Guests booking the ‘It’s Not All Business’ package can start and end the day in an inspiring way, with one of our local favourites. When the work day is done, business travellers often feel stuck in their hotel rooms, but we encourage them to discover something new. They don’t just check in to our hotels; they check in to the neighbourhood.”
The local neighbourhood is important to business travellers
How much does exploring the local neighbourhood mean to business travellers? The survey found that nearly a quarter (21%) would give up their business stipend to have extra time to explore the local neighbourhood while almost a third (29%) would give up sleep. The Hotel Indigo brand recognizes that even though some guests may be travelling for business, they don’t want to spend every hour of their day working. Whether it’s enjoying a local coffee or craft beer at the hotel’s bar and restaurant or exploring the surrounding neighbourhood, Hotel Indigo hotels make it easy for guests to discover something new and inspiring.
