Shepherd Neame has acquired the Royal Wells Hotel and the Beau Nash Tavern in Tunbridge Wells for an undisclosed sum.
The 23-bedroom 18th century hotel in Mount Ephraim combines Victorian elegance and modern comfort. Its individually-designed rooms are a major feature, while its charming setting and accessibility to the many attractions on offer in and around Tunbridge Wells make it a popular destination for tourists and business travellers alike.
Its Chalybeate Restaurant offers a refined dining experience, using the best seasonal produce for its extensive menu. The Conservatory Restaurant, with its intimate lounge bar, is the perfect venue for relaxed dining and parties.
The hotel also has its own pub, the Beau Nash Tavern, a cosy, welcoming venue offering a traditional menu and a wide range of drinks, as well as a beautiful walled garden and live music on a Saturday night.
The hotel offers an inclusive wedding package with a choice of three venues – The Ephraim Room, The Alexandra Room and The Conservatory.
It is also renowned for its excellent banqueting and conference facilities.
Nigel Bunting, Shepherd Neame retail director said:
“We are delighted to have acquired the popular Royal Wells Hotel, a building of great character and a fascinating history.
“We have a successful track record of developing premium hotels and the Royal Wells will make a fine addition to our estate.”
