Yes the fun packed HACCC is back bigger and better in 2012
Sunday 16th September will see 72 football teams from hotels, restaurants and suppliers to the hospitality industry battling it out to become the Hotel and Catering Challenge Cup (HACCC) winners 2012.
With over 1,000 players involved virtually every job in hospitality is represented and joined by supporters, families and friends.
Kick off is at 9.00am, and every team starts by playing 5 teams in its qualifying league before hopefully progressing through to the knock out stages.
So plenty of action to watch throughout the day whatever time you arrive, but the earlier the better.
Hotel staff step forward enthusiastically to join in with ‘Toss your Boss’
Every team has nominated a ‘Boss to Toss’ who will Bungee Jump on the day sponsored by friends, family and staff, raising money for charity. Not surprisingly staff seem very keen to see their boss being tossed off a platform from a great height.
This year’s fund raising target is a record £30,000 for Springboard, New Horizon and Spat. Who have teamed up and put together a programme to help young homeless and at risk people. They aim to bring these needy youngsters back into society providing a focus and training for a job in our industry.
A range of ‘Bosses’ have already signed up including some well known Hotel General Managers, some are rumoured to have only agreed reluctantly as it’s for such a great cause, staff in sharp contrast seem very keen to witness the event with no shortage of nominations continuing to pour in.
You might see a boss you know being tossed from a great height, but only if you’re there!
