After nearly 10 years in post as the Institute’s chief executive, Philippe Rossiter FIH has announced his intention to retire from full-time employment at the end of the year.
Commenting on his decision, Philippe said: “The past ten years with the Institute have been immensely rewarding, and I have had the pleasure of working with some wonderful people. The Institute has come through some major changes in this period, and the benefits of these are now being demonstrated in a number of areas. The industry’s professional body is going from strength to strength and it is now appropriate to pass on the baton to someone new who will guide it through the next chapter in its history.”
Sir David Michels FIH, the Institute’s president, commented: “We have been very lucky to have had Philippe as our chief executive over this period of unprecedented change. His leadership, vision, commitment, and his integrity have helped to lead the Institute through turbulent times and leave us in a much stronger position. He will be very sadly missed but he is leaving a strong legacy for his successor to take forward.”
The announcement was made at the Institute of Hospitality’s hugely popular Annual Lunch yesterday (29 May), a sell-out for the second year running, attracting nearly 400 hospitality professionals.
The Institute’s Executive Council has now commenced the task of recruiting a successor, and Profile Management & Specialist Recruitment Ltd, together with Xpress Recruitment, will be acting on the Institute’s behalf in the matter.
