Sodexo Prestige secure new long term partnership

March 28, 2012

Sodexo Prestige are about to secure a seven year contract (subject to contract approval) to provide catering services across the prestigious St Edmundsbury Collection.

The diverse portfolio of venues consisting of the apex, The Athenaeum, Abbey Gardens and Moyse’s Hall Museum is currently operated by the council. St Edmundsbury Borough Council (SEBC) were looking to appoint a partner to support them in realising their ambitions for the town and to add value to their event and cultural programmes.

Sodexo Prestige emphasised to the Council their commitment of ‘local venues for local people’, and through significant investment will look to develop the venues’ offerings across meetings, conferences, private parties and weddings, as well as create exciting new public catering outlets. Both SEBC and Sodexo Prestige are striving to provide a centre of excellence for a high quality, efficient service coupled with an innovative approach to promoting these venues as a showcase for outstanding local and ethically sourced food.

Account Director for Sodexo Prestige, Richard Wheeler commented:

“Sodexo Prestige have a fantastic pedigree in the leisure market including the West Wing at Ickworth, Knebworth House and the Churchill War Rooms. We are delighted to be working with a forward thinking, environmentally responsible client in St Edmundsbury Borough Council.”

Councillor Sara Mildmay – White, Cabinet member for Culture and Sport from St Edmundsbury Borough Council said:

“We have undertaken a thorough process to find a partner to help us to develop the catering and hospitality potential of our popular town centre venues. I am delighted thast Sodexo Prestige share our ambitions and that the agreement will benefit Council Tax payer and customers alike.”
