The Bingham, the award-winning restaurant with rooms in Richmond upon Thames, has appointed James Stillwell as sommelier.
Stillwell, joined The Bingham after having worked in London for the Dorchester Hotel and more recently at Coworth Park, where he had been sommelier since it opened in August last year.
Originally from Cornwall, Stillwell trained in Switzerland at the Glion Institute of Higher Education in Montreux. He has also worked in the Star Castle Hotel in the Isles of Scilly and been a stagiaire in China.
Commenting on his appointment, The Bingham’s owner Samantha Trinder said: “We are delighted that James has joined our front of house team.
He has superb credentials, and has already arranged a very successful Lebanese wine dinner. We have a very diverse list with a wide range of prices and James is enjoying augmenting it.”
