Bishopstrow House, the 32-bedroom country house hotel in Wiltshire and part of the von Essen Hotels portfolio, has been acquired out of administration by Longleat, the estate of the 7th Marquess of Bath.
The sale was made by Christie + Co on behalf of the Administrators at Ernst & Young.
Bishopstrow House is a 4 AA-Star, Grade II listed English country house set in the Wylye Valley in Warminster, Wiltshire — close to the Longleat Estate.
Chris Day, Managing Director of Christie + Co says: “Bishopstrow House is a quintessential Georgian country retreat and a very fine country house hotel. We’re delighted to have sold this hotel to Longleat.
“The von Essen Hotels portfolio has attracted some significant bidders, Longleat amongst them, and we expect to announce further sales in the period ahead.”
