Three intrepid cyclists are preparing to embark on a lengthy trek from Paris to Peterborough to raise funds for hospitality careers charity, Springboard.
The trio – Chris Birch and Andy Clarke from Hobart UK and Anne Pierce, chief executive of Springboard – will head off from Hobart’s Paris base and cycle their way to Peterborough to coincide with the opening of its new UK office.
During ‘Hobart’s P2P 4 Springboard’ three-day international journey, the trio will cover almost 400 miles raising money for Springboard with every pedal along the way.
Supporters can follow their experience on facebook via Hobart P2P 4 Springboard page.
Chris Birch, Hobart UK Marketing Manager, said: “This promises to be a long and memorable journey from our Paris office to the new Peterborough base. Our trip is in aid of a very good cause so I would encourage everybody working in the hospitality industry to show their support.”
Anne Pierce, chief executive of Springboard, said: “This is quite a challenging ride for us all but we are looking forward to it and we hope that we can raise a significant amount for the charity through our efforts.”
Among the many new features of the Peterborough office is a state-of-the-art innovation centre fully fitted out with the latest Hobart cooking and warewashing equipment which also houses a demonstration theatre and meeting rooms.
External sponsors already signed up to support the ride are logistics suppliers, Norbert Dentrassangle and Agility, foodservice and retail data experts Caterlyst and Orbana Healthy Energy. There are still opportunities for companies to get involved as lead and secondary sponsors for the trip which starts on August 28th and is due to reach Peterborough on August 31st. Companies interested in supporting the sponsored cycle should contact Anne Pierce.
