On Sunday 18 September 2011, Hotel and Catering Challenge Cup (HACCC) is expecting 48 top London hotels and catering companies to participate in the industry’s largest football charity event, raising money for Springboard.
24 teams took part in 2010 including: The Ritz, The Langham, K West Hotel & Spa, The Dorchester and The Goring. The winning team was the Lancaster London.
This year the friendly, competitive event will double in size, with players and their supporters enjoying a host of activities such as a funfair, an adult climbing wall, beer tent, and BBQ. The day will finish with a live music concert.
Antonio Sousa, Coach of the Lancaster London Bees
“Winning the Hotel and Catering Challenge Cup was a fantastic accomplishment for the hotel. Springboard UK is such a worthwhile cause and we were proud to help raise so much money for the charity whilst having a great day out.”
Barry Gendron, Head of Security at The Ritz
“There was a wonderful atmosphere which filtered through to all those participating in the event, and the sunny day brought a great sense of enjoyment to all present. The aspect of the fund raising side of things put the icing on the cake.”
Paul Gilley, Organiser from PJ Search
“It is wonderful to see teams made up of banqueting, kitchen, restaurant and front office staff, all playing together! This year should be a great day out for everyone with activities for the kids and plenty to do if you are not playing football!”
Springboard is the hospitality sector’s key charitable organisation, which celebrates its 21st Birthday in 2011. The charity helps underprivileged people gain work experience or full-time employment in the hotel and catering industry.
