Acting on behalf of the Chapman Group, the West Sussex-based pub and hotel operator, Christie + Co has sold the freehold of the Trout pub on the outskirts of Worthing, to experienced operator Alan Linton, for an undisclosed sum, off a guide price of £475,000.
Located on the outskirts of the coastal town of Worthing, the Trout is a detached property comprising an L-shaped lounge bar; a conservatory restaurant and further restaurant area with a total of 60 covers; and two-bedroom owner’s/staff accommodation.
The business also benefits from trade patio areas at the front and rear, and a 48-space car park.
Alan Linton currently also operates the Marquis of Granby in Redhill, Surrey. He plans to refurbish the Trout and reopen the pub under a new name — The Farmhouse.
Spencer Mann from Christie + Co’s Winchester Office said: “The sale of the Trout is another example of an experienced operator who had seen the current climate as an ideal opportunity to acquire a second pub.”
