Just six months after opening its doors, Novotel London Canary Wharf is celebrating achieving prestigious industry recognition for its accommodation, hospitality and service. Following an unannounced overnight stay, an AA inspector has awarded Novotel London Canary Wharf one of the highest hotel accolades available in the UK – a Four Star rating and Silver Star award. BŌKAN 37 restaurant, with 360° views across the capital, has achieved 2 AA Rosettes for its decadent modern European dishes.
The AA has listed Novotel London Canary Wharf as highly recommended, offering a superior level of quality and high standards of hotel keeping. The award showcases the hotel’s commitment to hospitality and the overall guest experience. A 4-star hotel must achieve a merit score of 83% or more to be recognised for the award. Novotel London Canary Wharf is the first Novotel in the UK to achieve Four Stars and a Silver Star status.
A new landmark for the capital, the 39-storey hotel boasts 313 rooms, 26 individually designed suites, New York-style gym and pool, nine design meeting rooms and a ground floor coffee shop. Masterminded by leading architects LRW and interiors agency Koncept, industrial materials are used throughout the hotel, paying homage to Canary Wharf’s maritime history. Quick check-in and check-out is facilitated on tablets with no reception desk in sight, offering a seamless guest experience from start to finish.
The restaurant on the 37th floor, BŌKAN 37, headed up by exceptionally accomplished head chef Aurélie Altemaire (formerly head chef at Michelin-starred L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon), has been awarded two AA Rosettes. The AA seeks out demonstrations of ambition, a passion for excellence, superb technical skills and an appreciation of culinary traditions. BŌKAN 37 – which means lighthouse – opened with a soft launch in March of this year to rave reviews for its modern European menu with a focus on quality, locally-sourced ingredients. The venue is inspired by the nearby Docklands with urban-industrial interiors featuring rusted copper metalwork, speckled panelling and exposed wooden floors. Award-winning design agency Mystery is behind BŌKAN‘s entire look.
Philip Logan, Novotel London Canary Wharf General Manager, commented “We are absolutely delighted with the AA rating and it is incredible to reflect on what the hotel has achieved since opening in February. Novotel London Canary Wharf is the global flagship for the brand, and reflects the future of Novotel, and of hospitality. The hotel offers an unforgettable experience and we look forward to welcoming many new guests to experience what we have to offer.”
