Young’s Pubs is to reopen The Wheatsheaf in Esher on 6 November following an extensive refurbishment of the Surrey pub.

Located at Esher Green, the 159-cover property has undergone changes across its interiors, bar area, private dining facilities and garden while retaining a number of its existing heritage features.
Design agency Kirk & Nolan has led the interior refurbishment, introducing dark red and green tones, exposed brickwork, bronzed antique mirrors and new timber flooring.
The bar has been updated with booth seating and a coffee counter, while the pub’s original open fireplace has been retained.
Outside, the 94-cover garden and terrace have been refurbished with new landscaping, hedging and paving to provide additional space for outdoor dining.
The Wheatsheaf’s private dining room has also been upgraded and can accommodate 14 seated guests or 20 standing.
A 65-inch interactive television has been installed to support meetings, presentations and private events.
Head Chef Gyula Szegedi will oversee the food offer, with the menu focused on seasonal British produce and suppliers.
Dishes will include black pudding crumpets with garlic aioli, Shropshire chicken satay salad and Dingley Dell honey mustard glazed gammon steak, alongside changing fish specials.
Sunday roasts will include West Country beef and Sutton Hubbard chicken, while the pub will also introduce a Saturday brunch menu.
The drinks offer will include Young’s Original, draught lagers and cocktails including the Hugo G&T and Absolut Tabasco Bloody Mary.
The Wheatsheaf will reopen ahead of the festive trading period, with Christmas dining and party menus planned alongside a Christmas Day offer.
A programme of community events will also include quiz nights, Meet the Chef events and winter workshops.
Zee Sakrajda, General Manager of The Wheatsheaf, comments: “We are thrilled to be unveiling the newly refurbished Wheatsheaf this November. Great care has been taken to elevate the pub and create a space fit for the local community, from upgrading our bar to launching our very first weekend brunch offering. We look forward to welcoming both longstanding regulars and new guests back through our doors.”
The Wheatsheaf will reopen seven days a week from 6 November.
The refurbishment continues Young’s investment across its Surrey estate, which also includes The Bear in Oxshott and The Swan in Walton-on-Thames.
