Hotel Galaxy Timisoara Opens as Radisson Individuals’ First Address in Western Romania

June 2, 2026

Hotel Galaxy Timisoara, a member of Radisson Individuals, is a 48-room lifestyle hotel at 18-20 Gheorghe Lazar Street in the Baroque old city of Timisoara, Romania, debuting the brand in western Romania. The hotel offers all-day dining at Essenza Restaurant and Essenza Brasserie, a lobby bar with outdoor terrace, meetings and events facilities, a modern fitness center, and a rooftop outdoor jacuzzi with panoramic city views, for business travellers, leisure guests, and extended-stay visitors.

The opening comes as Timisoara steps into an expanding role on the European travel map. Recognised as a European Capital of Culture 2023 and home to one of Romania’s finest ensembles of Baroque architecture, the city is drawing growing interest from international visitors while remaining one of the country’s most important business centres.

Joep Peeters, Chief Operating Officer Franchise EMEA, Radisson Hotel Group, comments: “Timisoara is one of Central Europe’s most captivating cities, rich in heritage, culturally vibrant, and increasingly gaining recognition on the international stage. Hotel Galaxy perfectly reflects what Radisson Individuals was created for, distinctive hotels with their own identity, rooted in destinations with stories worth discovering. We are delighted to welcome the hotel to our growing portfolio, marking the brand’s debut in western Romania and introducing the city’s first internationally affiliated lifestyle hotel in the historic old town centre.”

Hotel Galaxy Timisoara, a member of Radisson Individuals, sits in the old city center, within walking distance of the landmarks that define Timisoara’s character. The National Opera, one of Romania’s foremost cultural institutions and Union Square, the historic heart of the city are just 10 minutes by car. The Metropolitan Cathedral, the Botanic Park, and the Timisoara Revolution Memorial are all nearby.

For arrivals by air, Timisoara International Airport is approximately 20 minutes by car. The central railway station is seven minutes away. On-site outdoor parking is available for guests traveling by road. The combination of a walkable old city location and strong transport connections makes the hotel a practical and atmospheric base for both short visits and longer stays.

The hotel offers 45 rooms in twin and king configurations alongside three premium apartments designed for extended stays. Interiors combine warm tones, bespoke furnishings, and curated artwork to create an atmosphere that feels connected to the city rather than apart from it — comfortable and contemporary, but with a distinct sense of place.

The premium apartments offer additional space and flexibility for guests on longer visits, complementing a room offering that covers the full range of business and leisure needs.

All-day dining is available at Essenza Restaurant and Essenza Brasserie, both serving international and local cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menus draw on the Austro-Hungarian culinary tradition that runs through Timisoara’s history, a thread of Central European cooking, refined over generations, alongside contemporary international flavours. Together, the two restaurants and the lobby bar, with its outdoor terrace, give the hotel a genuine food and beverage identity that reflects its city as much as its brand.

The wellness offer includes a spa with treatment rooms and massage services, a sauna, and a modern fitness centre with cardio and strength-training equipment. The hotel’s unique outdoor jacuzzi on the upper terrace, provides an unmatched view across the rooftops of Timisoara’s old city.

An executive boardroom and larger conference areas provide flexible space for business gatherings, workshops, training sessions, and private functions. All meeting rooms are equipped with modern audiovisual technology and benefit from natural daylight, with modular furniture allowing layouts to be adapted to the requirements of each event. On-site support is available throughout.

“Timisoara has always deserved a hotel that matches its ambition, a place that reflects the city’s creativity, its cultural depth, and its confidence as a destination on the rise. Hotel Galaxy Timisoara, a member of Radisson Individuals, is that hotel. We are proud to join the Radisson Individuals family, and delighted to offer our guests a stay that feels genuinely rooted in one of Romania’s most extraordinary cities.” Andreea Otescu, General Manager, Hotel Galaxy Timisoara, a member of Radisson Individuals.
