Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy Sets New Benchmark for Global Community Impact in 2025

June 3, 2026

Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP), the nonprofit arm of global travel leader Abercrombie & Kent, has released its 2025 Global Impact Report, marking the organization’s most impactful year to date. In 2025, AKP raised $3.3 million to support 80 active projects across 27 countries on all seven continents, with lifetime beneficiaries surpassing the half-million mark.

Driven by the belief that travel should create meaningful, lasting benefits for local communities, AKP continues to expand initiatives focused on education, healthcare, conservation and enterprise development.

“From feeding thousands of students each day to expanding access to clean water, healthcare and economic opportunity, 2025 was a landmark year for A&K Philanthropy,” explains Keith Sproule, Executive Director, A&K Philanthropy. “With the support of our guests and partners, we have now reached nearly 550,000 people through more than 80 projects across 27 countries. At the heart of our work is a long-term commitment to working alongside our partner communities and create the conditions for lasting change.”

AKP’s team of 17 Impact Managers work collaboratively within the communities where projects operate, enabling strong local relationships and close oversight of implementation. Their on-the-ground presence allows AKP to respond quickly and effectively while supporting projects growth in some of the most rural and isolated regions of the world.

Featured 2025 Projects

Enterprise Development: Revitalising an Amazonian Community With Sustainable Enterprises: In the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, AKP has partnered with the Nueva Arica community to develop bio-businesses focused on the sustainable production of punga fiber, aguaje fruit and honey. This initiative supports local livelihoods while helping protect one of the world’s most biodiverse ecosystems.

Education: New Library Opens in Kenya’s Maasai Mara: At Pusanki Primary School in Kenya’s Maasai Mara, AKP funded the construction of a new library and provided 1,110 books for 440 students. The project is helping expand literacy and create a dedicated space for learning in a rural community bordering vital wildlife conservation areas.

Enterprise Development: Empowering Women Through Vocational Training in Jordan: Near Petra, Jordan, AKP supported a six-week mosaic training program for 40 young women, helping participants develop artistic and entrepreneurial skills to launch businesses and generate sustainable income within their communities.

Travel That Gives Back

Inspired by the philosophy established by A&K founder Geoffrey Kent more than 60 years ago, AKP continues to champion a community-first approach to conservation and sustainable tourism worldwide. This commitment is brought to life through immersive experiences integrated into many A&K Tailormade and Small Group Journeys, giving guests the opportunity to connect more deeply with the communities they visit. Travelers can meet local leaders, visit schools and community enterprises, and witness firsthand how tourism can create meaningful change.

AKP’s programs are made possible through the support of A&K Travel Group, generous guest donations, global partners and local communities. One hundred percent of guest donations go directly to the projects they support.
