The Manchester Deansgate Hotel by IHG has announced the appointment of Kade Howarth-Cooper as Manager of Cloud 23, its iconic sky bar located on the 23rd floor.

Kade’s appointment builds on a lifelong connection to the hospitality industry, having grown up in a family immersed in the sector – from grandparents working in pubs to parents and siblings who have followed similar paths. He joins Cloud 23 with a wealth of hands-on experience and a deep-rooted passion for the industry.
Manchester born Kade began his journey pulling pints at the Etihad Stadium before building his experience across Manchester’s bar and dining scene, allowing him to develop his craft across a range of environments – from traditional pubs, where he learned the foundations of authentic, people-first service, to high-energy cocktail bars and fine dining venues.
Kade has held roles with leading operators including The Alchemist and Lucky Cat, where he gained valuable insight into delivering premium, detail-driven guest experiences. He has worked extensively within five-star environments in both bar manager and duty manager roles, shaping a leadership style which is centred around high standards without pretension.
In his new role as Manager, Kade will oversee the day-to-day operation of Cloud 23, with a focus on maintaining exceptional guest experience.
Kade Howarth-Cooper said: “Hospitality is in my blood. For me, it’s about more than just service – it’s about creating moments people remember and feel connected to. Cloud 23 has an incredible reputation and I’m excited to build on that by bringing together everything I’ve learned so far.
“My approach is rooted in three core principles: luxury without arrogance, energy without chaos, and precision without pressure. If we can deliver on those consistently, we can create something really special for both guests and the team.”
Konstantin Grimm, General Manager at Manchester Deansgate Hotel, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Kade to the team. His passion for hospitality, combined with his breadth of experience across Manchester’s bar and restaurant scene, makes him a fantastic fit for Cloud 23. We’re excited to see how his energy and leadership will shape the next chapter for the bar.”
