By Angela Green: Bicentenary Afternoon Tea celebration of The National Gallery’s 200th Anniversary.
Ochre, the modern British restaurant by Charlotte and Sam Miller in central London’s National Gallery on Trafalgar Square, launched a new Bicentenary Afternoon Tea on Friday 10th May, in celebration of The National Gallery’s 200th Anniversary.
Curated by Head Pastry Chef Rebecca Morrison, the new exclusive afternoon tea, has been crafted to commemorate this incredible milestone.
The menu will include a variety of treats and pastries such as Plate of blueberry, coffee, pistachio and raspberry Macaroons, Paintbrush 70% Valrhona Guanaja Mousse with raspberry filling, Bicentenary Birthday Cake, and Lemon Choux.
There will also be fresh finger sandwiches for a savoury fix with classic fillings ranging from Free Range Egg Mayonnaise to Ham + Tomato with mustard mayonnaise, Severn & Wye Scottish Smoked Salmon with dill crème fraîche to Cucumber with Cornish butter & Sea Salt.
This experience a choice of Good and Proper loose-leaf teas including Lemon Verbena, White Peony, Jasmine Pearl, and 2nd Flush Darjeeling, to mention a few.
Guests will be able to elevate their tea with a glass of Nyetimber Sparkling or Laurent Perrier Champagne or choose from the exclusive new cocktail ‘Bicentenary Blush ‘ comprising Woodford Reserve Whiskey, Disaronno, lemon juice, Better’s Bitters, sugar and Angostura Bitter.
The Bicentenary Afternoon Tea is priced £55.00, or £65.00 with a cocktail, Nyetimber Sparkling or Laurent Perrier champagne. This will be showcased at The National Gallery until 14th September 2024.
