By Angela Green: Kitchen Porter at The Art School in Liverpool scoops February’s Kitchen Porter of the Month Award.
We are delighted to report its been another busy month for the Kitchen Porters Club, scrutinising entries for their Kitchen Porter of the Month competition. Once again entries cover much of the geography of the UK, and most sectors of our industry were well represented.
So, after careful consideration the judges, led by Meiko UK managing director, Paul Anderson decided the February Kitchen Porter of the Month award goes to Salvo Forsisi, Kitchen Porter at The Art School in Liverpool.
Paul Askew, Chef Patron of The Art School entered Salvo Forsisi and in so doing rounded up Forsisi as an all-round model kitchen porter. Knowing how successful and busy The Art School in Liverpool is, we can only imagine how challenging keeping everything as it should be back of house would be. So, well done Salvo Forsisi from the team at H&C News.
Meiko’s Paul Anderson told us: “It is a pleasure reviewing the entries for the Kitchen Porters Club Kitchen Porter of the Month competition. It is also a great pleasure when the awards are announced, as we often see happy kitchen porters and the colleagues that nominated them celebrating on social media. Many are modelling the Kitchen Porters Club official aprons we send the winners, and as such proud to be members of the Kitchen Porters Club, as they should be. We at Meiko are certainly proud to enable such richly deserved accolades.”
January’s winners were a trio of kitchen porters at Aldwark Manor Estate, nominated by Mike Sweeting, Ivan Ferreira, Pedro Correia Madureira, and Cristobal Rodriguez. They are pictured below all proudly sporting their official Kitchen Porters Club member aprons.
