By Angela Green, Content Executive: Golf Fang opens in Cardiff.
Golf Fang has opened its first in Wales after investing £1.5 million into the new venue based on Mary Ann Street.
Golf Fang Cardiff is an 18-hole golf course in an environment surrounded by bespoke art, combining crazy golf with theatre, cocktails, and DJs. The venue has teamed up with their signature graffiti artists to create a ‘sprayground’ where golf courses are built into unique set designs such as shop fronts, rave rooms, TV sets and much more.
The new site has been divided into two floors taking guests on a journey throughout the venue’s different themes. Each set has been built with every detail in mind with the goal to create a venue that not only functions as a golf course but as an ‘art installation’ too.
Golf Fang Cardiff is home to the brand’s most iconic and signature sets including the tunnel of love, Jeremy Kyle TV studio, teddy picker, UV room and many more. The site also features sets unique to Cardiff which pay homage to the 90s rave scene, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, classic arcade games, TVs shows and plenty more.
The venue’s most stand-out feature is the 18ft high wavy slide which transports guests from one floor of the venue to another, described as a must-see feature for guests who want to reconnect with their “inner child”.
Founded by Kip Piper and Daniel Bolger in 2016 the Big Fang Collective owns and operates across six cities in the UK, including Birmingham, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield, and Glasgow. Golf Fang Cardiff is their sixth location following a successful launch in Sheffield with plans to continue expanding across the UK.
The Big Fang Collective’s focus on delivering next-level entertainment spaces, coupled with the brand’s market-disrupting nature, helped attract investment from Imbiba earlier last year. Renowned for investing in high-growth, category leading leisure and entertainment brands, Imbiba invested £5m in aid to grow the brand, both in the UK and internationally.
The venue will be open seven days per week from midday to 1am Monday to Friday, 11.30am to 1am on Saturday and 11am to 12am on Sunday, with bookings and walk-ins both accepted.
