Boris Johnson addressing the Conservatives’ virtual spring forum has said that with his roadmap on track he is confident of hitting the dates he set out, and reopening progressing on those lines.
In a message to his party members the PM said: “I can see absolutely nothing in the data to dissuade me from continuing along our roadmap to freedom, unlocking our economy and getting back to the life we love.”
The PM joked about getting a haircut, which we are all looking forward to, and then sent a message to pubs saying: “But, more important than that (haircut) I’m going to be able to go down the street, and cautiously, but irreversibly, I’m going to drink a pint of beer in the pub.”
The full speech from the Prime Minister can be seen and heard below in the tweet from the Conservatives.
