Weetwood Hall recruits new Operations Manager

September 30, 2017

Balasz Szecsi, Operations Manager, Weetwood Hall Estate

Weetwood Hall Estate has appointed Balasz Szecsi as Operations Manager to manage the day to day running of all parts of its extensive hotel, restaurant and conferencing facilities.

During his time working for some of the UK’s best-known hotel chains, Balasz has built up a strong skillset that will help Weetwood Hall Estate develop its service offering throughout its facilities. From its restaurant to its conference rooms and the hotel itself, Balasz has already taken the time to get to know each of Weetwood Hall’s comprehensive list of services and put forward valuable ideas to enhance each.

Originally from Hungary, Balasz has lived in the UK since 2012, during which he has held roles at a number of well-known and respected brands, including Hilton and most recently Radisson Blu, where he was Food and Beverage Manager.

Balasz says: “When I was approached about the possibility of joining the team at Weetwood, I was particularly drawn to the size and capability of the hotel’s fantastic banqueting and conference facilities. Getting to know the business over the past three months, I have had the chance to identify a number of small opportunities that will make a big impact on our level of service offering whilst simplifying how operations are run. I hope visitors and staff alike will already be able to notice positive impacts from the changes I’ve implemented.

“When I accepted the role I knew it would be a challenge, but I also knew it would give me the opportunity to demonstrate my experience and ability to make key decisions. My previous roles at large chain businesses often meant decisions could take a long time to be approved and implemented. Here, I can present an idea and see it in action the next day. It’s a different pace than what I’ve ever experienced before and its suits me a lot better. I never knew my job could be like this and I’m really enjoying it!”

Says Steven Kershaw, Weetwood Hall Estate’s General Manager: “Balasz’s emphasis on high-standards and key knowledge of the UK hospitality industry made him the ideal fit for the role. Operations Manager is an important position, responsible for ensuring the day-to-day running of all aspects of the business, and Balasz is enjoying making the role his own. “

Set in nine acres of wooded grounds, the independently run 4-star Weetwood Estate includes an award-winning hotel, well-facilitated conference centre and an impressive modern restaurant featuring locally sourced ingredients.
