Boutique hotel brand Malmaison announces the appointment of Racheal Bird as General Manager of Malmaison Oxford
Racheal has over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, most recently as General Manager at Malmaison Cheltenham. Prior to joining Malmaison she was Revenue Manager at the hotel when it was the Montpellier Chapter Hotel before being promoted to Hotel Manager. She joins Oxford at an exciting time and in her first move at the hotel, will see them offering exclusive hire of the ‘A Wing’ for weddings and corporate events.
Housed in one of the hotel’s former prison wings, ‘A Wing’ boasts the most beautiful and unique wedding space within the castle, the Atrium, and 38 spacious double bedrooms, each converted from former cells. With a capacity of 120, the space is perfect for ceremonies, drinks receptions and wedding breakfasts, and the surrounding bedrooms are ideal for guests that want to make a night of it.
Malmaison Oxford is located in the city’s castle quarter, one of the oldest yet trendiest parts of the city. Originally a medieval castle, it still retains many of its original features from its days as a prison, making it a truly unique destination.
Commenting on her appointment, Racheal said, “I’ve been with the hotel for five years now and have loved every minute of it, but I’m really excited to be taking on this new challenge – Malmaison Oxford is an amazing hotel in a beautiful city. I look forward to joining the team and welcoming our guests.”
Sc0tt Harper, Chief Operations Officer at Malmaison commented, “Racheal has done an excellent job at Malmaison Cheltenham and we believe she will make a brilliant General Manager at Oxford.”
