Wondertree, a brand new casual all-day dining concept, opened 4 June at Heathrow’s Terminal 2. Wondertree is a collaboration between Russel Joffe, co-founder of giraffe restaurants and The Restaurant Group plc (TRG).
The largest restaurant in the brand new terminal, Wondertree occupies over 5,000 sq ft with 190 covers and has been designed to take advantage of the airfield view over the UK’s hub airport.
As part of the airport’s commitment to revolutionise the passenger dining experience, Wondertree’s design has set out to enhance the customer journey through a choice of either self-service café with food to-go, or relaxed table service dining.
Food will be cooked to order from an open plan kitchen featuring daily fresh breads, morning pastries and global salads. Passengers can order a coffee or beer through to a full family meal from a menu that includes artisan flat breads, two handed sandwiches, small and large plates as well as all day breakfast dishes, smoothies, freshly-pressed juices and shakes. Other drinks include individually prepared drip fairtrade coffee, loose-leaf teas, independent wines, ciders and a range of six different jugs of sangria.
The quick service café combined with relaxed restaurant dining aims to serve all dishes within 15 minutes to appeal to time poor travellers.
