Chef’s Job of the Week – Sous Chef, Lancaster

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate sous chef looking for a new challenge in the Lancaster area. However, this role may also suit a Junior Sous chef looking for their first Sous Chef position. This quaint country inn is located in a picturesque village bordering Cumbria, serving both good quality traditional British dishes combined with South African specialties.

This busy pub in the Lancaster countryside has a great reputation and attracts not only village customers but also people travelling from far and wide. This fast paced kitchen environment produces high end pub food for 100 covers per day during the week and 400 per day at the weekend.

As Sous Chef, you must share the passion to deliver quality produce, sourcing local suppliers wherever possible. You will be involved in the management of the kitchen and in the absence of the Head Chef you will be responsible for maintaining these standards along with ensuring strict hygiene standards and stock control.

This Sous Chef role offers a salary of £20000 to £22000 dependent on experience + excellent gratuities and free onsite parking. This is a live out role and due to location, all applicants must have their own transport to commute daily. Working 5 out of 7 days , the majority of shifts will be straight shifts.
