The British Hospitality Association (BHA) has appointed Grace Chung as its first marketing and sales director.
Ms Chung was formerly Sales Director for leading London hotels during her career to date, most recently Grace for Holiday Inn and previously Hilton, Marriott, Le Meridien and IHG.
The BHA, incorporating the Restaurant Association, is the voice for the hospitality industry. It has in membership almost every publicly quoted hotel group, many independent hotels, tourist attractions, restaurants and clubs, major food and service management companies and many local hospitality associations, as well as hospitality education establishments. In total, it represents more than 40,000 establishments.
Ufi Ibrahim, Chief Executive of the BHA said:
“I am delighted that Grace has joined the BHA. She will provide a new service for existing members and for our corporate partners who are so supportive of the industry. Members join the BHA knowing that while we’re representing their interests to Government, they can get on with what they love best -managing their businesses. Our aim is to champion the best possible environment so that hospitality businesses in this country can continue to flourish.”
Ms Chung said:
“With my experience at the front line of hospitality, I am excited to be working at the heart of the industry at the BHA. Our corporate partners such as Coca Cola, E.ON Energy Solutions, Nestle Professional and DLA Piper provide members with a wide range of benefits and I will be looking at how we can extend these benefits to even more members to save them money and valuable time.”
BHA research shows that the British hospitality industry is the UK’s fifth largest industry currently employing 2.44m and generating a further 1.2 million indirect jobs. Last year the industry provided one third of all new jobs according to ONS statistics.
