On Monday 4 May, Allpress is set to open a new espresso bar on Cowcross Street, Farringdon, marking an addition to Allpress’ expanding portfolio of cafes and their latest location since their Manchester site. The opening reflects Allpress’s considered approach to growth, showcasing exceptional coffee and hospitality expertise.

Located at 88-89 Cowcross Street, overlooking Smithfield Market, and positioned at the heart of one of London’s most historic food districts, Allpress Farringdon is a standalone, purpose-built espresso bar designed to harmonise with the rhythm of its neighbourhood. Built as a coffee-first space, the site focuses on quality, consistency and high-volume takeaway throughout the day.
Guests can expect signature blends alongside seasonal single-origin coffees, all expertly roasted and brewed with precision, including a new exclusive Farringdon Coffee – a Natural, Pink Bourbon from Jesus Arbey Iquira in the Huila region of Colombia. The space will also showcase a curated retail display, allowing customers to bring the Allpress experience home.
Of the Farringdon exclusive coffee, Soph Wilson, Coffee Programme Lead UK, has said: “We wanted to open this site with a very special coffee; one that aligns with our values over here at Allpress UK: People, Flavour and Innovation. Jesus is a very talented producer; developing his own meticulous processing methods to achieve unique yet exceptional coffees.” Typical to Pink Bourbons, guests can expect a lot of sweetness with a clean finish, with this cup in particular oozing jammy cranberry, lavender florals and a distinct spiced aroma.
A curated selection of baked goods prepared in-house will complement the coffee menu, from fresh banana bread and seasonal savoury scones to tray bake slices such as a salted buckwheat brownie or a white chocolate and matcha blondie. Cookies will include a classic chocolate chip and a miso and white chocolate, plus lighter options like granola balls and yoghurt pots. The pastry offering will be supplied by renowned bakers Pavilion, including classic croissants, pain au chocolat and cinnamon buns.
London has long been central to the Allpress story; alongside its Roastery Café on Dalston Lane, the brand has multiple sites, including Redchurch Street and is served by leading hospitality partners across the city. Farringdon becomes their latest move beyond East London, strengthening its presence in the capital and reinforcing their ongoing contribution to shaping the UK’s ever-growing coffee culture.
Allpress Farringdon has been thoughtfully designed alongside Deidra Hodgson and stays true to the brand’s visual language. The space draws on Scandinavian design, Japanese attention to detail, and mid-century materiality: balancing warmth, material honesty and quiet functionality.
Fundamental to its design, striking end-grain oak flooring, integrated shelving, and oiled oak finishes collectively create a warm, grounded, and inviting atmosphere. Leaner bars line the internal walls, and a central standing bar encourages easy gathering and conversation. Brushed stainless steel surfaces, contemporary porcelain tiles, and softened steel detailing provide contrast, while vintage-inspired rice paper pendants introduce a soft, ambient light. Outside, wooden seating with tables completes the calm and contemporary space, feeling both tactile and enduring.
As with all Allpress cafés globally, the Farringdon opening continues the brand’s mission to brew better days for our people, cafes, communities and the planet.
“Opening on Cowcross Street feels like a natural next step for us”, said Agnes Potter, Managing Director of Allpress UK. “We’re bringing our coffee into the heart of the city and creating a space that reflects both the heritage of the area and the way Londoners drink coffee today.”
