74 Charlotte Street is launching a new chef collaboration series, with Pierre Koffmann joining Head Chef Ben Murphy for the inaugural dinner on Tuesday 15 September.

Ben & Friends will bring guest chefs to the Fitzrovia restaurant for a programme of one-night-only dinners, with each collaboration reflecting the relationship between Murphy and chefs who have influenced his career and cooking.

Koffmann, Murphy’s former mentor, will open the series with a six-course collaborative menu.

The dinner will begin with pissaladière, followed by crab salad with Granny Smith apple and cucumber and lobster ravioli with bouillabaisse.

Koffmann’s Pig’s Trotter à la Pierre Koffmann will follow, before pistachio soufflé and a selection of petit fours including tarte au citron and madeleine.

The dinner is priced at £250 per person, with an optional wine pairing available for £95.

The event will run from 6pm until 9pm.

Murphy said: “Pierre has had an enormous influence on my career, so it feels incredibly special to welcome him at 74 Charlotte Street to launch Ben & Friends.

“I’m excited to cook alongside some of the best chefs in the world, with each collaboration bringing something unique, and fun, for our guests.”

Koffmann said: “Ben’s passion, dedication and respect for great ingredients have always stood out, so it’s a pleasure to be reunited in the kitchen with him.

“We’ve created a menu that celebrates our shared love of classic cooking, and I’m looking forward to welcoming guests for what promises to be a memorable evening.”

Following the opening dinner, Ben & Friends will continue with further guest chef collaborations throughout the year.

Each chef will work alongside Murphy to develop an individual menu reflecting their respective cooking styles and shared influences.

Further participating chefs, menus and booking details are due to be announced from September.

The series adds to a growing number of chef-led collaboration programmes across the hospitality sector, with hotels and restaurants increasingly using guest dinners and limited-run menus to create additional dining experiences.
