Old Course Hotel Welcomes Tom Kerridge and The Hebridean Baker for Autumn Chef Series

August 6, 2026

Old Course Hotel in St Andrews has announced that Tom Kerridge and Coinneach MacLeod, known as The Hebridean Baker, will lead two events in its autumn Chef Series.

MacLeod will host a Scottish-inspired afternoon tea on 17 October, while Kerridge will present a five-course tasting menu at the hotel’s Road Hole Restaurant on 14 November.

The Chef Series brings chefs and food personalities to St Andrews for a programme of dining events combining specially created menus with storytelling and hospitality.

Kerridge’s dinner will be inspired by visits to suppliers and producers across Fife, with the menu showcasing seasonal Scottish ingredients through his approach to British cooking.

The event will take place at the Road Hole Restaurant, overlooking the Old Course and West Sands Beach.

Kerridge said: “The history, heritage and global reputation of Old Course Hotel are extraordinary, and the setting is absolutely stunning.

“Visiting the hotel and meeting its suppliers has given us the opportunity to think about how our style of cooking can align with the character of this special place and showcase some of Scotland’s brilliant produce.

“The five-course tasting menu will be a real celebration of British seasonal cooking at its best, using some of the amazing Scottish ingredients we’ve discovered here while embracing the techniques we’ve developed at The Hand & Flowers.

“We want to showcase phenomenal produce through great cooking, all against what is arguably one of the best views anywhere.”

MacLeod’s afternoon tea will draw on Scottish baking, family recipes and stories from the Outer Hebrides.

The ticketed event will be followed by a reception featuring stories and songs from the islands, accompanied by drams from the Isle of Harris Distillery.

Early copies of MacLeod’s forthcoming festive cookbook, Hebridean Baker: A Scottish Christmas, will also be available to purchase at the event.

MacLeod said: “I’m delighted to be part of the Old Course Hotel Chef Series this October and to host an afternoon tea inspired by the flavours and stories of Scotland.

“Afternoon tea should feel generous, comforting and just a little bit special. It promises to be a wonderful afternoon of good food, warm conversation and plenty of Hebridean hospitality.”

The two events follow previous Chef Series appearances by Rachel Allen of Ballymaloe and Alex Dilling of Hotel Café Royal. The inaugural series was launched with Dilling in November 2025, followed by Allen in March 2026.

Phyllis Wilkie, General Manager at Old Course Hotel, said: “The Chef Series is designed to bring distinctive voices in food to St Andrews, creating experiences that combine exceptional cooking with storytelling, personality and a real sense of occasion.

“To welcome Tom Kerridge and Coinneach MacLeod as part of the autumn programme is incredibly exciting and reflects the breadth of what we want the series to offer.

“From Tom’s bold, generous approach to British cooking to Coinneach’s celebration of Scottish produce, recipes and island culture, each event gives guests the chance to experience something truly memorable here at Old Course Hotel – bringing indulgent hospitality and world-class talent into one of Scotland’s most iconic hotel settings.”

The announcement follows a programme of investment at Old Course Hotel.

Recent work has included a refurbishment of the fourth floor, which is home to the Road Hole Restaurant, Road Hole Bar and Swilcan Loft.

The hotel has also completed improvements to its lobby and opened a new boutique, The Emporium, alongside Herb’s café.
