Japanese restaurant Miokuru has opened on Warwick Street in Soho, bringing a fresh take on London’s counter dining scene.

The fast-paced, flavour-led restaurant combines hand rolls, seafood and Tokyo energy in an intimate central London setting.
At Miokuru, British seafood meets refined Japanese culinary techniques.
The 20-seat restaurant champions produce from British waters and land, with a focus on quality ingredients and seasonal sourcing.
Menu highlights include pressed scallops, seasonal house pickles and seared Chalkstream trout sashimi.
These sit alongside a selection of made-to-order hand rolls, including Cornish white crab with wild garlic mayo, dry-aged beef tartare with wasabi mustard and herbs, and wild glazed and pickled mushrooms.
To finish, guests can enjoy a seasonal sorbet topped with scorched meringue.
The drinks list includes premium London-brewed sake and a selection of Japanese-inspired serves.
Options include Sparkling White Koji sake, Mezcal Miso Margarita, Melon Sour and rotating batches of keg sake designed for freshness.
A selection of natural wines and London-brewed beers is also available.
Inside, Miokuru centres around a sleek open kitchen and counter dining experience.
Additional bar seating can also transform into a speakeasy-style private dining area for up to 10 guests.
Designed by Block1, the restaurant captures the essence of Japanese izakaya bars with a London touch.
The space features dark wood finishes, hammered stainless steel counters, curated ceramics and soft lighting, creating an interior that feels energetic yet understated.
“Some of the island’s best seafood, paired with rice, nori and handed to you just as it should be – simple, fresh and straight into your hands,” said Eliott Grabli, founder of Miokuru.
In Japanese, Miokuru means “to send someone off on a journey”, a philosophy woven into the restaurant’s identity.
Whether visiting for a quick hand roll and sake at the counter or settling in for a seafood-led feast, Miokuru brings Japanese counter culture, British produce and Soho energy together in one intimate restaurant.
