Switch Management Expands Bournemouth Presence with Acquisition of Ibis Styles Hotel

June 17, 2026

Switch Management has expanded its Bournemouth portfolio with the acquisition of the Ibis Styles Hotel on East Cliff.

Ibis Styles Bournemouth

The purchase marks the company’s second hotel acquisition in the town and follows its recent £2 million refurbishment of The Queens Hotel & Spa.

As part of the transaction, the jobs of the hotel’s 30 employees have been safeguarded, with staff transferring to Switch Management under the new ownership.

Located within walking distance of Bournemouth’s Blue Flag beaches and the town’s pier, the hotel offers 78 guest bedrooms across a range of accommodation categories. Facilities include a lounge, restaurant and bar, catering to both leisure and business travellers.

Switch Management has confirmed that the property will continue operating under the Ibis brand while further investment is made in the hotel. The company’s immediate focus will be on stabilising operations and enhancing services to improve the guest experience.

The acquisition adds to Switch Management’s growing hospitality portfolio, which also includes The Queens Hotel & Spa in Bournemouth, Park Regis Birmingham and Aparthotel Birmingham.

Commenting on the acquisition, John Angus, Managing Director of Switch Management Ltd, said: “The acquisition of Ibis Styles Hotel demonstrates our continued confidence in Bournemouth’s hospitality market and our commitment to investing in the local economy.

“The hotel has a strong reputation and benefits from an excellent location, and we look forward to building on that foundation while supporting its employees and enhancing the guest experience.

“By delivering the high standards of quality, service and sustainability for which Switch is known, we aim to create another go-to hospitality destination. The hotel will provide a complementary offering to The Queens Hotel & Spa, allowing us to cater to a broader range of guests visiting Bournemouth.”

The deal reflects continued investment in regional hospitality markets, with operators seeking to strengthen portfolios through acquisitions and operational improvements.
