Accent Catering Invests in People-Oriented Commercial Growth

June 2, 2026

Accent Catering has appointed Antony Prentice as commercial director to support sales, client relationships and strategic development of the business.

Antony Prentice, Commercial Director of Accent Catering

The former MD of BM Caterers brings over 30 years of experience within the hospitality sector, having worked for BM Caterers for 15 years in operational and directorship roles. Prior to that, he had held positions with many leading UK foodservice operators, including Eurest, Restaurant Associates and Sutcliffe Catering.

Although only one month into his new role, Prentice has already visited 25 contracts across Accent’s portfolio of contracts. His vision is to develop the business throughout its core operating regions including London, the Home Counties, and the Midlands.

His appointment comes as the independent caterer gears up to celebrate its 25th anniversary later this year.

Commenting on his new role, Prentice, said: “Accent has quietly built a reputation as a quality, people-focussed business with a strong ethical approach. The company’s focus on strong relationships drew me to the role. My goal is to retain existing clients while growing the business further in an organic and sustainable way – and without losing what Accent is all about. This is not about growth for growth’s sake, but more about building on what is there already and holding onto the values that have been embedded into the business since the outset.

“As a quality, independent operator, we are in a strong position to spread our wings further into the B&I and school sectors. Again, client and staff relationships are key. I have never witnessed such happy, motivated teams as those in Accent. There is a genuine love of the business and a sense of pride that is palpable. This makes a huge difference on client sites where the provision of good food goes hand-in-hand with friendly and engaging staff who clearly enjoy their jobs.”

Commenting on the appointment, Ian Crabtree, managing director of Accent, said: “The time is right to make this strategic investment in the future of the business. Antony’s experience and his people-orientated ethos align with our values, so we are excited to welcome him during what is a significant milestone year in our history to date.”
