Sam Harrison to Close Chiswick’s Sam’s Kitchen After 20 Years, Focus Shifts to Hammersmith and Brentford

March 14, 2026

West London restaurateur Sam Harrison will close Sam’s Kitchen in Chiswick after service on Sunday 22 March, bringing a two-decade chapter in the neighbourhood to a close as the business concentrates on its larger restaurants in Hammersmith and Brentford.

Sam’s Kitchen first opened in Chiswick in 2005 and quickly became part of the area’s local dining scene. The restaurant on Turnham Green Terrace built a loyal following among residents and regular guests, helping establish the foundations of Harrison’s West London restaurant group.

Over the years the business has expanded its presence across the Thames corridor, with larger brasserie-style venues now attracting growing customer demand. Those operations, particularly Sam’s Riverside and Sam’s Waterside have continued to build a strong, loyal and expanding customer base.

The decision to close the Chiswick site reflects a strategic move to focus resources on those larger venues, which offer greater scale as the business continues to develop its brasserie concept.

While the Turnham Green Terrace restaurant will close, Sam’s Kitchen will continue to operate in Hammersmith, located behind Sam’s Riverside, maintaining its established breakfast, brunch and burger evening offering.

The closure marks the end of a twenty-year presence for Sam’s Kitchen in Chiswick, the neighbourhood where the story of Harrison’s restaurant group first began.

We spoke with Sam, who remarked of the decision saying: “We have decided now is the time to fully focus on our two large brasserie offerings – Sam’s Riverside in Hammersmith & Sam’s Waterside in Brentford, which are both continuing to attract a large and loyal following that is growing beyond our expectations. To manage that we have reluctantly decided to close our Sam’s Kitchen offering in Chiswick. Sam’s Kitchen in Hammersmith will remain and will continue its breakfast, brunch & burger offering.”
