Switch Management has appointed Louis Rigney as the new General Manager of Queens Hotel & Spa Bournemouth, ahead of the hotel’s reopening.

Bringing more than 25 years’ experience to the role, Rigney has held regional leadership positions and managed single-site venues across both independent and group hotel brands.
Most recently, he worked for The Venues Collection, part of Compass Group, as General Manager of two properties, while also holding responsibility as Group Project Manager.
The appointment comes as the hotel prepares to reopen its doors in March, following an extensive £2 million pound refurbishment programme. The investment includes upgrades to bedrooms, spa facilities, functions rooms and the hotel’s grounds.
Commenting on his appointment, Rigney said: “This is a pivotal time for Queens Hotel & Spa as we welcome guests back to the newly renovated hotel, reinforcing our commitment to delivering a gold-standard level of service.
“I have lived in Christchurch for 12 years and, together with my team, look forward to bringing our local knowledge to showcase the best that Bournemouth has to offer.”
John Angus, Managing Director of Switch Hospitality, added: “Louis’ experience delivering high-quality customer service at leading hotels, combined with his invaluable knowledge of the local area, makes him the ideal person to lead Queens through this new chapter.
“With reopening just weeks away, we are excited to reveal the results of our extensive refurbishment programme, with Louis leading the team to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests.”
