New Dining Destination O.W Launches in Leicester

March 30, 2026

The Grand Hotel Leicester by The Unlimited Collection, managed by The Ascott Limited, proudly introduces O.W. At The Grand, a new restaurant inspired by the hotel’s rich heritage.

Located within the city’s newly reopened iconic hotel, moments from Leicester train station and High Cross Shopping Centre, O.W. brings a fresh approach to classic British dining. The menu champions the ethos of familiar, timeless favourites done well.

Highlights include a reimagined Afternoon Tea featuring a global selection of teas as well as vegan and children’s options, a Daily Pie Special crafted in collaboration with award-winning local producer Brockleby’s Pies, and a rotating Gin of the Month featuring local distillers such as Burleighs Gin and Driftwood Gin Distillery. With offerings from brunch to signature cocktails, the restaurant is designed to become a destination in its own right for visitors and Leicester residents alike.

Blending The Grand Hotel’s historic character and recent transformation, O.W. offers guests a dining experience that is both timeless and contemporary, set in the art deco-inspired space.

Named in honour of the hotel’s founder, Orson Wright, the restaurant reflects the Grand Hotel’s unique identity following its relaunch, while celebrating Leicester’s diverse heritage. A pioneering 19th-century developer, Wright was responsible for creating much of South Wigston and for constructing The Grand Hotel itself, leaving a lasting architectural imprint on the region.

Seif Djouani, Food and Beverage Director Europe at The Ascott Limited – “Hospitality is about creating memorable experiences that are rooted in place, history, and culture. With O.W., we saw an exciting opportunity as part of the Grand Hotel’s relaunch to reimagine our offering to Leicester’s dining scene. We’ve brought together heritage and exceptional quality in a way that feels both refined and warmly inviting.”

From British classics to rotating local gin offerings, every detail of O.W. has been carefully crafted to honour the city’s past while engaging today’s diners in a truly memorable way.

The Grand Hotel Leicester reopened in January following an impressive transformation. Now part of The Unlimited Collection and managed by The Ascott Limited, the hotel blends its historic Art Deco character with contemporary luxury, offering 104 individually designed rooms, immersive guest experiences, and flexible event spaces, including the city’s largest historic ballroom. The renovation celebrates Leicester’s theatrical legacy and cultural heritage, while modern touches in the restaurant, U-Shop, and public areas create a sophisticated yet locally inspired experience.
