Green & Fortune Achieves B Corp Certification

March 7, 2026

The UK’s leading independent caterer Green & Fortune has achieved B -Corp certification, formally recognising the company’s long-term commitment to operating a values-first business that balances sustainable growth with a positive social and environmental impact.

John Nugent, Co-Founder of Green & Fortune

The certification marks an important milestone for Green & Fortune, strengthening its position as the capital’s leading independent caterer, firmly grounded in responsible business practices.

Founded in 2008 by John Nugent and Peter Millican, Green & Fortune is an award-winning hospitality company, known for its ability to create unique culinary and cultural destinations within multi-format sites. The accreditation supports what is an exciting chapter of growth for the hospitality firm with £20m+ revenue expected for 2026, up from £17.5m+ in 2024, and the upcoming opening of four new food and beverage concepts at London Museum later this year.

The B Corp status follows Green & Fortune’s continued efforts to meet and exceed verified standards of performance, accountability and transparency across its operations; core principles which have been embedded in the business since its inception.

Farming with Purpose

A defining part of Green & Fortune’s approach to sustainable operations and reducing carbon emissions is the use of its own farm in Northumberland, which supplies all beef and lamb to its flagship venues at Kings Place, including Rotunda Bar and Restaurant, Kings Place Events and the Green & Fortune Café. King’s Place is home to an on-site butcher and hanging room, from which select cuts are also supplied across the wider portfolio, ensuring quality, traceability and reduced food miles across everything from café sandwiches to restaurant menus.

Commitment to Community

Community impact is similarly central to the business and since 2019, Green & Fortune’s annual St Patrick’s Day fundraising event has raised more than £272,000 for charitable causes, including Hospitality Action and The London Irish Centre. Alongside this, the company continues to support reducing food poverty in London, having donated over 20,000 meals to date to Copenhagen Street Food Bank in King’s Cross, a programme launched during the pandemic and sustained ever since. All employees are also given an annual paid charity day.

London-First, London-Only

Operating exclusively within London, Green & Fortune is able to ensure its internal values are demonstrated across all operations: showcasing investment in the city’s people, places and wider economy. Green & Fortune champions its London-based workforce, partnerships with local organisations to recruit and develop talent, and a supply chain that is centred on London based suppliers, over 50% of whom are independent operators.

Supporting People

Supporting People Green & Fortune is London Living Wage accredited and has paid above the London Living Wage since December 2021, consistently introducing wage increases ahead of government timelines. Supporting employees remains a core priority, with initiatives including an employee assistance programme, cost of living payments, and annual salary reviews structured to deliver the greatest impact for the lowest paid team members.

Together, these principles underpin Green & Fortune’s role in supporting the capital’s hospitality, cultural and creative ecosystems, while reinforcing its belief in responsible growth. Employing over 250 people, Green & Fortune nurtures development at all levels with a Talent Seed Programme, and Leadership Academy – both of which support the career development of employees.

Emma Williams, Director, Green & Fortune, says: “Achieving B Corp certification is a hugely important step for Green & Fortune. It is a marker in the sand for the way we have always chosen to do business – investing in our people, supporting our communities and taking responsibility for the impact we have as we grow. Becoming B Corp certified gives us a clear framework for accountability as we continue to scale, while staying true to our values.”

Dominic Potts, Head of Supply, Systems and Sustainability, Green & Fortune, adds: “We’ve never set out to tick boxes. Whether that’s farming our own beef and lamb, paying people properly, or committing to London as the only place we operate, these decisions have always been about building a better business for the long term. B Corp certification is recognition of that approach and a commitment to keep pushing ourselves further.”

The announcement coincides with B Corp Month and the Planet Peach Sustainability Summit 2026 – hosted at Green & Fortune’s flagship site, Kings Place on 4th March – and at which Green & Fortune’s Managing Director, Sarah Miller, will be speaking as part of a panel of experts in the hospitality space.
