Cornish Bakery Now Open in Lincoln

March 30, 2026

Cornish Bakery, the independent, founder-driven company first started in Mevagissey, Cornwall, has just opened its new design-led bakery in Lincoln. The bespoke new bakery opened on Saturday 28th March with the help of local charity, Let them Eat Cake. Let them Eat Cake Let is a weekly outreach charity team in Lincoln who support the homeless community through hot meals. The outreach team will be using leftovers from the bakery going forward.

The new Cornish Bakery has brought a contemporary, craft-focused space to the historic Cornhill area (9–12 Cornhill), a prominent and characterful location within one of Lincoln’s most storied commercial quarters. Positioned as Lincoln’s first modern bakery, it takes a confident, contemporary approach to both design and hospitality. It features a fully open working bakery kitchen on show, allowing visitors to experience the craft of baking up close, from kneading and shaping through to baking and rising. This transparent approach will create an engaging atmosphere where visitors can connect with the Cornish Bakery team, learn more about the processes behind the products, and enjoy a lively, welcoming environment.

Set within a characterful building that reflects both Lincoln’s heritage and its contemporary culture, the space accommodates up to 54 guests, offering a comfortable place to gather, relax, work, or meet while enjoying the bakery’s range of premium food and drink. It has created up to 15 local jobs and will play an active role in the community, supporting local initiatives and becoming a vibrant part of the Cornhill district’s day-to-day life.

Inside, the Lincoln bakery showcases a new evolution of Cornish Bakery’s design approach, with a refined modern industrial aesthetic that balances raw authenticity with premium craftsmanship. The design exposes the building’s original brickwork and plaster, celebrating its character while introducing contemporary materials and finishes.

The interior features stainless steel throughout, complemented by stone flooring and elegant Carrara marble countertops. Mandarin Stone tiles and Clayworks plaster add depth and texture to the space, while leather seating brings warmth and comfort.

Given the company’s Cornish heritage, they always use new bakery opportunities to support committed artisan makers and designers. The new Lincoln bakery showcases feature lighting by Studio Haran adding a beautifully authentic and artisanal touch to the interior. The shopfront is finished in a ‘Baked Soft Terracotta’ shade, giving it a distinctive, contemporary yet earthy presence on Cornhill.
