Café Ambio Teams Up with Windermere Lake Cruises for Exclusive Catering Partnership

February 3, 2026

Catering News Sponsored by Ditsch UK

Northwest-based family business Café Ambio is proud to announce its partnership with the Lake District’s iconic Windermere Lake Cruises as an official catering partner, bringing together a shared commitment to quality, creativity, and exceptional hospitality.

Windermere Lake Cruises is one of the UK’s most recognisable and enduring visitor attractions. Established in 1845, the company welcomes approximately 1.3 million passengers each year across its fleet of 17 vessels. Offering daily sightseeing cruises and a variety of seasonal and themed journeys, Windermere Lake Cruises provides visitors with unrivalled views of the Lakeland fells, and plays a vital role in the region’s tourism landscape.

As part of this partnership, Café Ambio delivers onboard catering as well as bespoke catering for private charters and special events, including the popular Summer Evening Buffet Cruises. Known for its flexible, customer-focused approach, Café Ambio ensures every dining experience is thoughtfully tailored to suit both the setting and the occasion.

Jon Southcott, Director at Café Ambio, commented: “We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to catering. Whether we’re serving customers at our cafés across the Northwest or delivering a premium dining experience for Windermere Lake Cruises’ Evening Buffet events and private charters, our focus is always on providing high-quality, bespoke solutions. Catering onboard a vessel presents a unique set of challenges, but these are challenges our team embraces. We’re incredibly proud to continue our longstanding relationship with Windermere Lake Cruises.”

Jennifer Cormack, Sales & Marketing Director at Windermere Lake Cruises, added: “We are extremely proud of the exceptional partnership we have with Café Ambio. They provide catering for our private charters and Summer Evening Buffet Cruises, consistently delivering high-quality, locally sourced food that our passengers truly enjoy. Their team is efficient, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile. Catering on a boat in the middle of Windermere is a very different type of venue, yet Café Ambio handle it with professionalism and ease every single time.”

This partnership reflects both organisations’ dedication to delivering memorable experiences for visitors, combining stunning scenery with outstanding service and carefully crafted food, all set against the unique backdrop of England’s largest natural lake.
