Via Emilia by Food Roots Arrives in Notting Hill

January 11, 2026

Via Emilia by Food Roots has opened a third site on All Saints Road in Notting Hill. Inspired by Emilia Romagna – the food basket of Italy and birthplace of fresh egg pasta, the menu at Via Emilia is a journey of discovery through this revered food region.

Centered on nine pasta dishes, each reflects a different area of Emilia Romagna and are all made by hand on a daily basis and titled in their original Emilian dialect. From a simple Spaghet’ cun e’ sùg ed pundór from Cesena (spaghetti with slow cooked tomatoes, basil and extra virgin olive oil from Brisighella) to Tajadèl bulgnaisi col ragó from Bologna (tagliatelle with beef & pork Bolognese ragu) as well as Turtē vèird a l’arşâna from Reggio Emilia(square ravioli filled with spinach, ricotta and parmesan cheese topped with butter and sage). Every dish is made to an established family recipe to deliver an exact taste of this famed Northern Italian food region. With each sauce paired to a perfect pasta; be it Ravioli, Spaghetti or Taglioni everything is an authentic re-creation of how the dish should be made and enjoyed.

Unique to Via Emilia is their Gnocco Fritto – a traditional, gently fried bread served with Emilian meats such as Prosciutto, Mortadella and Pancetta, as well as cheeses like Parmigiano from Parma and Caciotta from Ravenna. Eaten strictly with your hands, this authentic Gnocco Fritto ritual is an experience found nowhere else in London.

All dishes can be enjoyed with a curated selection of Emilian wines. Choose from a crisp and fruity Sangiovese, or one of the popular Moma blends from Bologna as well as Emilia-Romagna’s most iconic pour: Lambrusco, served the traditional way into ceramic bowls. This playful yet historic serving style is a hallmark of the region and has become a signature part of the Via Emilia experience

Able to seat up to 46 people, the restaurant has been designed in partnership with Lee Pollock from lifeforms design. A neutral color palette of light brown and cream creates a natural and chic space complete with street lined windows which ensure plenty of natural light.

With sister sites in Fitzrovia and Shoreditch, Via Emilia is an established restaurant which has been welcoming people on their Food Roots journey since 2012. Never veering from their path, Via Emiliia is unwavering in its commitment to serving people a genuine taste of Emilia Romagna which is always thoughtful, educational and to date incomparable.

Now part of Notting Hill’s burgeoning food scene, Via Emilia’s W11 location ensures to deliver exactly the same level of service and taste that diners have come to expect from this most genuine of Italian restaurants.
