Professionals at Play Promotes Ben Turnock to Managing Director as Group Secures First Dublin Site and Accelerates Expansion

January 8, 2026

Professionals at Play, the parent company of Roxy Lanes, Roxy Ball Room, King Pins and Star Pins, has promoted Ben Turnock to Managing Director, as the group continues its rapid expansion across the UK and Ireland.

Ben Turnock, Managing Director of Professionals at Play

Turnock has worked closely with founders Matt Jones and Ben Jones since 2020 and formally joined Professionals at Play in 2023. Since then, he has played a central role in strengthening the group’s financial, commercial and operational functions during a period of sustained growth.

Most recently serving as Finance Director, Turnock’s remit has progressively expanded to include operational delivery and strategic execution. His appointment as Managing Director reflects the increasing scale and complexity of the business as it continues to grow its multi-brand leisure portfolio.

Over the past year, Professionals at Play has expanded its estate to 27 venues across the UK, with its most recent opening at King Pins Castle Lane, Belfast, last month. The group has ambitious plans for 2026, with at least five new venues expected to open, including:

  • King Pins, Edinburgh
  • Roxy Ball Room, London Holborn
  • Roxy Ball Room, Dublin
  • Roxy Ball Room, Glasgow
  • Conversion of a Roxy Lanes site in Liverpool to Star Pins in January

The company has also secured its first site in Ireland, marking a significant milestone in its international expansion. The debut Irish venue, a 12,000 sq ft Roxy Ball Room at Central Plaza in Dublin, is scheduled to open in Q2 this year, located approximately 200 yards from Temple Bar.

Matt Jones, Chief Executive of Professionals at Play, said: “Over the past year, the scale and complexity of our operations have grown significantly. Ben has played a pivotal role in laying the foundations for this growth, and his appointment as Managing Director ensures strong continuity as we continue our expansion across the UK and Ireland.”
