Marsham Court joins Accessible Hospitality Alliance

January 26, 2026

Accessible Hospitality Alliance (aha) is pleased announce welcoming Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth to its growing community of operator members committed to a hospitality world that welcomes everyone.

Marsham Court is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading hotels for accessibility and inclusion. Its long-standing commitment to accessible design, inclusive guest experience, and equitable employment has seen the hotel receive countless accolades and awards, establishing the hotel as a beacon of accessible hospitality.

The hotel’s approach is rooted in the belief that accessibility should be embedded, not added on. From physical access and guest experience through to workplace culture and operational decision-making, Marsham Court demonstrates how accessibility can be delivered consistently and commercially within a mainstream hospitality setting.

Marsham Court’s membership further strengthens aha’s community by bringing into the network an operator that is already leading by example. Its decision to join reflects aha’s growing role as a convenor of businesses that are not only committed to progress but are actively shaping what good practice looks like for the wider industry.

James Dixon—Box

James Dixon-Box, Operations Director at Marsham Court Hotel, has played a central role in the hotel’s accessibility journey. In August 2025, he was appointed by the UK Government as Disability & Access Ambassador for the Hospitality Industry, recognising both his personal leadership and the work being delivered at Marsham Court.

James Dixon-Box said of Marsham Court joining Accessible Hospitality Alliance: “We are thrilled to be an active member of such an important movement. The momentum that the aha is generating is very exciting and is sure to be a driver for much needed change within our industry. I’m so glad we can be a part of that.”

As part of the aha community, Marsham Court will engage alongside other member organisations in shared learning, open dialogue, and collective momentum, contributing lived experience and practical insight that helps accelerate meaningful change across hospitality.

Denis Sheehan, Managing Director, Accessible Hospitality Alliance welcomed Marsham Court saying: “We are delighted to welcome James and the team at Marsham Court as members of Accessible Hospitality Alliance. Having visited the hotel and working with James at our Forum’s I know he and his colleagues will add valuable knowledge and experience to our growing membership.”

Accessible Hospitality Alliance exists to convene hospitality around a simple purpose: a hospitality world that welcomes everyone.
