Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh has officially opened a major new extension, increasing the hotel’s capacity by 100 bedrooms and taking the total room count to 290.

The eight-storey extension forms part of a wider development investment in the site, with the extension itself representing approximately £22.4 million of spend. The project also includes the expansion of the hotel’s Leo’s Restaurant, enhancing dining capacity for both hotel guests and local visitors.

The extension officially opened on Monday 26th January, creating 15 new jobs and supporting the hotel’s ability to meet growing demand from leisure and business travellers. The investment further strengthens the hotel’s position within Edinburgh’s competitive hospitality market, enabling it to accommodate higher visitor numbers while enhancing guest experience and facilities.
