Tower House Brings Modern Mediterranean Cuisine and Relaxed Intimacy to Richmond’s Riverside

December 1, 2025

Proudly open now on Richmond’s idyllic riverside, Tower House introduces a new modern Mediterranean restaurant and bar rooted in a spirit of warmth and relaxed intimacy, from the team behind Gold Notting Hill.

Located in what was once a mid-19th-century riverside home, Tower House’s clock tower pays homage to Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s coastal residence. Inside Tower House, guests will find heirloom collectables and crafted objects, all articulating a love of soulful imperfection. Outside, the elevated Riverside Garden offers sweeping views of a tree-lined curve of the River Thames, framed by the historical splendours of Richmond Bridge and Twickenham Bridge, a unique and peerless setting.

Known for his unfussy approach to seasonal produce, Theo Hill, Executive Chef at both Tower House and Gold Notting Hill, has composed a menu which is spontaneous and full of joyful flavour. “We simply wish to show as much consideration as we possibly can towards the best produce available. The aim is always to cook with fire in an unforced and harmonious way, which allows the ingredients to speak for themselves,” he explains.

Diners can expect a menu full of creativity while committing to seasonality and simplicity. Designed for sharing, dishes include hand-rolled parcels of silky Prawn Agnolotti with vermouth and fennel; Burnt leek with romesco sauce, almonds and chervil; Roasted cauliflower with tarragon dressing, pomegranate and walnut; alongside larger dishes including Wood Roasted Whole Turbot; Roasted scarlet prawns with cherry tomato, feta and oregano; and Veal T-because one steak, tarragon and anchovy butter. The menu will evolve seasonally.

Dishes are accompanied by a sophisticated list of classic and seasonal cocktails, including the Earth & Ember, with Johnnie Walker Black Ruby, ginger and burnt beetroot; and a Brown butter & sage mini martini, with brown butter mezcal, sage and fino sherry, alongside a wine list which focuses on minimal intervention wines.

Creative design of the venue has been led by Tower House founder Nick House, alongside professional design teams – architecture by Tibbats Abbel, interiors by Studio Duggan, and landscaping design by Rosebank. An array of talented makers have also been a part of the project, from the intricate brass details crafted by metal workers in Marrakesh and bamboo benches made by hand in Bali, to mild steel candelabras and a mild steel fire kitchen hand forged in Dorset and London respectively.

Spanning two floors, Tower House’s main dining room is set in an intimate glass garden room with a wonderful array of trees and plans built into the structure, opening out onto a vast riverside garden overlooking the river, seating around 100 covers. With an atmosphere of ease and conviviality, Tower House will welcome guests for both lunch and dinner inside one of Richmond’s most recognisable landmarks.
