Family-run school caterer Olive Dining is thrilled to have been highly commended for the Mid-Market Business of the Year Award at this year’s Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards.

Olive Dining was founded by Stephanie Spratt and Chris Whitter in 2010 to provide a bespoke catering service to both primary and secondary schools across London and the South East, with menus that are vibrant, nutritious and prepared from scratch.
With their combined experience in large multi-site contracts within the catering industry, Stephanie and Chris have established a positive reputation in enhancing student life through the provision of tasty, freshly prepared and wholesome meals in schools.
After being shortlisted in the Mid-Market Business of the Year category earlier this year, Olive Dining then moved on to the next stage of the process which consisted of an in-person presentation in front of a panel of expert judges.
Championing sustainability, diversity and equality, The Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards is the UK’s largest and most prestigious business awards programme that celebrates the ‘cream of the crop’ across all industries.
This year saw a record-breaking number of entries, with all winners announced at the awards ceremony on 11th November at Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
Stephanie Spratt, co-founder and CEO of Olive Dining, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Olive Dining was highly commended in the Mid-Market Business of the Year category – a true honour that reflects how far we’ve come and the incredible people who’ve made it possible.
“To be recognised alongside some of the UK’s most dynamic, innovative and value-driven companies is something our entire team can take immense pride in. This commendation celebrates not only our growth, but the principles at the heart of Olive Dining.
“A heartfelt thank you to Lloyds Bank and the British Business Excellence Awards for hosting such an inspiring celebration of British enterprise. Our team had a fantastic evening connecting with so many brilliant businesses and fellow finalists.
“Finally, a huge thank you to our teams, our school partners and our suppliers. Your passion, dedication and belief in Olive Dining is truly special. Here’s to continued growth, innovation and excellence together.”
2025 has been a successful awards season for Olive Dining, with CEO Stephanie Spratt recently taking home the Family Business Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the South East region at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards (GBEA).
Now working with over 150 schools, the Surrey based business is committed to delivering a service rooted in nutrition, sustainability and community, and prides itself on creating an inclusive experience where every member of the school community feels valued and represented.
