New Irish Bar to Open in the Heart of Manchester

November 5, 2025

Manchester’s Albert Square is set to welcome an exciting new arrival this November with the launch of Dirty O’Sullivans, an Irish Bar and Restaurant bringing a fresh twist to the city’s hospitality scene. Taking over the iconic former Red’s True BBQ site, Dirty O Sullivans is set to blend the warmth and charm of a traditional Irish pub with the legendary Manchester nightlife, serving up top-tier food, live entertainment and some of the best Guinness in town.

Bringing a unique Irish-American vibe, the venue features bottomless Guinness pour taps across select booths with a ‘Guinness Pour Specialist’ showing guests how to serve the perfect pint. Adding to the fun, there is a ‘pub within a pub’ concept named ‘Luckys’, a 80s themed space serving only Guinness, available for private hire for up to 60 people.

This will sit alongside two expansive bars pouring everything from classic Irish whiskeys to Irish coffees and cocktails.

The food menu, developed by the award-winning team behind Firehouse, Ramona and Diecast, will showcase Irish-inspired sharing dishes, from hearty comfort plates to small bites. Designed for good craic, live music and late nights, the food is full of flavour and shareable. From warm sausage rolls with red onion chutney, to chicken tenders, Guinness onion soup with cheddar toasties and loaded pies with proper gravy, each dish nods to Ireland’s homely roots with a dash of ‘Stateside’ indulgence.

There will be crowd-pleasers like the Dirty Burger, a full Irish Breakfast and beer-battered Fish Fry alongside nostalgic puddings like Sticky Toffee, Bailey’s Tiramisu and the Lucky Charm Sundae plus an indulgent Sunday roast with rich Guinness gravy.

‘Outlet O’Sullivans’ will also feature in the space selling a range of merchandise from t-shirts, caps, hoodies and bucket hats.

Chris Bateson, Operations Director at Tokyo Industries said: “We wanted to create a space that feels like Dublin meets Manchester, all the heart and ‘craic’ of a traditional Irish pub, but with the energy Tokyo Industries is known for. It’s a space for amazing Guinness, great authentic food, live music and good times.

Located just steps from Manchester Town Hall, Dirty O’Sullivans officially opens its doors at the end of November, just in time to join the buzz of the Manchester Christmas Markets.

Tokyo Industries, the team behind Dirty O’Sullivans and a range of other Manchester bars such as Gorilla, Deaf Institute, Impossible, Factory, Whiskey Down and BLVD, acquired the Grade II-listed site six years ago, and are now ready to bring it back to life with an Irish twist.
