Shawn Pisani joins Accessible Hospitality Alliance Advisory Board

October 6, 2025

Shawn Pisani, Vice President, HelmsBriscoe, has joined the Advisory Board of Accessible Hospitality Alliance (aha), further strengthening the movement making hospitality more accessible and inclusive.

HelmsBriscoe is the global leader in hotel site selection and the placement of meetings and events. HelmsBriscoe’s international team spans more than 60 countries, with local experts helping clients deliver successful meetings across the world.

The firm’s diversity, equity, inclusion, & accessibility statement makes them a natural ally of aha, reading as follows… “HelmsBriscoe views diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility as a business and moral essential that is fundamental to our ability to provide better services and strengthen our culture. We are committed to an inclusive work environment that embraces diverse perspectives and experiences, and we welcome and value all who are dedicated to providing a high level of service to our clients. With more than 1,500 independent contractors across the globe, HelmsBriscoe Associates operate in 60 countries and represent a variety of races, ethnicities, genders, gender identities, ages, disabilities, socioeconomic statuses, origins, religions, and sexual orientations. At HelmsBriscoe, we celebrate the different talents and viewpoints that together unite us as a global leader providing unmatched value for our clients.”

Shawn Pisani commented on joining the Accessible Hospitality Alliance Advisory Board saying: “I am honoured to join the Accessible Hospitality Alliance Advisory Board. As a parent of a child with special needs, a hotelier, and through the projects I’ve been involved in, I have seen first-hand the power of true inclusion on people, society, and businesses alike.

“Our industry is well known for bridging cultural divides; its ability to improve accessibility and set an example for the rest of society is equally powerful, though less recognised. I am eager to support and contribute to the Alliance’s work, and I believe that together we can make a profound impact.”

Denis Sheehan, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Accessible Hospitality Alliance welcomed Shawn saying: “It was immediately apparent when we met that Shawn shares a deep personal commitment to aha’s purpose: a hospitality world that welcomes everyone. On behalf of the whole aha team, I would like to say it is our privilege to welcome Shawn to our Advisory Board, and we very much look forward to working alongside him.”

This appointment is not isolated. It is part of a strategic process, a visible and deliberate strengthening of aha’s senior team structure following its first major event, The aha Forum, in Partnership with Thomas Franks.

Pisani’s appointment is another step forward and is already having impact, helping shape the next aha Forum, in Partnership with Thomas Franks. The event takes place on Wednesday 5th November, 11am – 5pm, at Scale Space White City. Following the sold-out success of the first Forum, demand to attend its next outing is high.

Details of the agenda, venue, and contributors will be announced soon, those wishing to attend are encouraged to register interest here while spaces are still available.
