To celebrate World Pasta Day, the Gloria squadra have the ultimate carb loaded surprise, for one-night-only they’ll be shipping in a world-famous Roman import for a pasta-filled feast… the inventors of Fettucine Alfredo.

On Tuesday 28th October at Gloria in Shoreditch, Mario Mozzetti, owner of the historic Alfredo alla Scrofa, will be flying in from Rome to join forces with Big Mamma to celebrate this iconic Roman dish, and whip up as many Fettucine Alfredos as Londoners can handle. A recipe over 100 years old, Alfredo all Scrofa is the only restaurant in Rome serving the traditional Fettuccine Alfredo, as Mario explains:
‘The perfection of Fettuccine Alfredo lies in its simplicity : just fresh home-made, butter, and Parmigiano Reggiano 24-month, gracefully woven by the mantecatore’s hands in their dance. We have been performing this waltz for over a century, and each time it forges a special bond between the mantecatore and the guests.’
On this first visit to London, Mario will be revealing the secrets behind the traditional recipe, alongside an entirely Roman 4-course set menu cu rated by Big Mamma’s wondrous Executive Chef, Filippo La Gattuta. Think classic Roman Supplì, Vitello Saltimbocca, alongside piles of steaming fettuccine all served tableside by the Alfredo alla Scrofa team, before finishing, of course, with spoonfuls of Tiramisù. What’s more, all proceeds from the night will go to The Felix Project, London’s largest food redis tribution charity, whose work helps to ensure no child goes hungry.
